In Reunion
In dit webinar deelt Sara Docan-Morgan (PhD) haar onderzoek naar transnationale Koreaanse geadopteerden en hun relaties met hun geboortefamilies.
Ze baseert zich op haar boek In Reunion: Transnational Korean Adoptees and the Communication of Family (2024, Temple University Press), dat voortkomt uit longitudinale, kwalitatieve interviews met volwassen Koreaanse geadopteerden in de Verenigde Staten en Denemarken die herenigd zijn (of zijn geweest) met hun geboortefamilies.
Onderwerpen die aan bod komen zijn onder andere de eerste ontmoetingen, culturele en taalverschillen, en hoe adoptiebetrokkenen, professionals en anderen geadopteerden het beste kunnen ondersteunen tijdens een hereniging.
